How I Was Manufactured
Greetings, fellow inhabitants of the cosmos!
My name is Shane Deng! Here is a short bio about me:
I am originally from China. I moved to Madison, Wisconsin for my undergraduate degree. I received my Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. I worked with Prof. Peter Adamczyk on the rimless wheel robot project in BADGER Lab.
I am honored to be selected and featured on the UW-Madison Engineering Pamphlet.
Upon graduating, I decided to continue pursuing graduate studies at Carnegie Mellon University, where I worked at Robomechanics Lab as a research assistant, as advised by Prof. Aaron Johnson. My main project was the autonomous soil sampling robot development.
I am a Mechanical Engineering Ph.D. student at Northwestern University and part of the Center of Robotics and Biosystems, advised by Prof. Mike Rubenstein.
Internship and Co-op experiences at industry giants like ThermoFisher Scientific and Enerpac Tool Group have been integral chapters of my professional journey.
I like to dabble in different things but robotics has always been something that I love since I was little. I am hoping that I could utilize my potential and passion to advance this field.
